NFL great Jerry Rice appeared on a Bleacher Report special to play the Name Game and repeatedly cheated.
If you’re not cheating, you’re not trying. That’s what Jerry Rice would tell anyone who’d put him down for slipping a peek at the names on the cards before placing them over his forehead in the Name Game.

That makes me want to go back and see how many times Jerry Rice pushed off on a deep ball or something. The video also harkens to the classic Kenny Mayne video where Jerry Rice coaches a flag football team. ‘Jerry’s Time’ indeed.
Of course, the real motivation for Rice’s appearance on a Bleacher Report video become clear when he spends about a minute talking about the wonders of Met Life. Suddenly the funding and fuel for such a video become abundantly clear, but hey that’s how things get done in 2014. Let’s not begrudge an otherwise entertaining video for getting business done.
Rice’s former team, the San Francisco 49ers, are mired in the thick of the NFC playoff hunt, in need of a big run to make some noise in the conference after a rocky, inconsistent start. The team will have to make said run without linebacker Patrick Willis, who has been ruled out for the 2014 NFL season.
