Keys to Victory

For how lopsided prime-time NFL football has been this season, this game might actually stay close because of the strength of these two defenses. Both the Dolphins and the Bills have proven to have elite units on that side of the ball this season. This will likely be a long night for both offenses.

With that being the case, there will be pressure on the respective playmakers for each offense. For the Bills, that burden will fall on rookie wide receiver Sammy Watkins, especially with the news that running back Fred Jackson will be out for this game. That will be no easy task for Watkins as he deals with Dolphins’ cornerback Brent Grimes.

As for the Dolphins, look no further than the quarterback Ryan Tannehill. The problem for Miami might be how dinged up the offense is around Tannehill, however. Running back Lamar Miller is still dealing with a shoulder injury, and they just lost left tackle Branden Albert for the season. Whichever offense can come up with one or two big plays might just do enough to get their team the win.

Betting Odds

Point Spread: Dolphins -4
Moneyline: Dolphins -205, Bills +175
O/U: 41

Prediction

Of all of the issues in this game, the loss of Albert at left tackle for the Dolphins might loom the largest. Given the pass pressure that Marcell Dareus and the Bills’ line already generates up the middle, they will make Tannehill’s life miserable in this game and win an ugly game on the road on a short week.

Final Score: Bills 13, Dolphins 10
