Metta World Peace’s brother Daniel Artest says the Los Angeles Clippers are interested in signing the forward.

More from Los Angeles Clippers

Currently sitting at 4-3, the Los Angeles Clippers have dealt with an early season funk which has them placed third in the Pacific Division. That might not be big news for most, but the Los Angeles Clippers are expected to be a powerhouse in the Western Conference and compete for a spot in the NBA Finals.

Given that the team could be looking to spice things up in hopes of igniting a spark. Might Metta World Peace be of interest? Most would assume the man formerly known as Ron Artest would be the last player who the Los Angeles Clippers would have interest in, but not according to World Peace’s brother Daniel Artest who says the Southern California based basketball franchise has their eyes on him.

There’s no denying that Daniel Artest has inside information considering Metta World Peace is his brother. He’s also accurately reported things about his brother before. On the flip side, he’s also been incorrect on plenty of occasions so the suggestion does need to be taken with a grain of salt.

The Los Angeles Clippers are dealing with some injuries and Metta World Peace, who has been playing in China this season does have an NBA opt-out clause in his contract. Still, at this point the Clippers would need to sign Metta World Peace to a full season contract considering 10-day contracts are not available.

Perhaps the Clippers have simply sent out a feeler to World Peace to see if he’d be interested in a return to the NBA and will be open to giving him a 10-day deal once they become available later in the season.

Either way, it’s something to keep an eye on.
