The newest MLS club, New York City FC has revealed their first home jerseys.
New York City FC is the newest club in the United State’s soccer league, the MLS (Major League Soccer) and they have revealed their home jerseys for the first time. The jersey takes a very identical style and color to Manchester City’s jerseys as they share the sponsor, Etihad Airways.
The jersey is an iconic City Blue, with white and dark blue detailing with the club badge in the top right corner. The club badge was chosen by fans, which is inspired by the old New York City Subway Token, created by the Transit Authority in 1953 and used for 50 years as the standard fare for a ride.

The jersey uses Adidas’ Adizero engineering, the same used in the 2014 world cup jerseys, and it is the lightest jersey in all of soccer. The jersey also features the Club’s Inaugural Season tag, marking 2015 as New York City FC’s first year in MLS on the bottom left of the jersey.
David Villa is NYCFC’s most popular player. Villa spent six years with Valencia and then four with FC Barcelona before spending a year with Atletico Madrid and then moving to the MLS. The 32-year-old is one of the most famous players on the Spain national team, he’s played with them for ten years and has 57 goals in 97 appearances.
