Lions starting running back Reggie Bush has been battling an ankle injury all week and is unlikely to play against the Arizona Cardinals on Sunday, according to Tim Twentyman of the Detroit Lions‘ official site. He’s listed as questionable and perhaps the Lions are hoping he improves in the last few days before gameday. However, he has not practiced all week and it’s probably more likely that Theo Riddick, Joique Bell and George Winn are the Lions’ go-to backs against the Cardinals.

Bush has been battling this particular ankle injury all season and he aggravated it last week against the Miami Dolphins, coming out of the game. Bush has already missed two games since injuring it in the loss to the Buffalo Bills in Week 5.

Reggie Bush is the only player on the Lions injury list to not be listed as out or probable. Guard Larry Warford is out with a knee injury and defensive tackle Nick Fairley is also out with a knee injury.

The list of Lions probables is long:

"Tight ends Eric Ebron (hamstring), Joseph Fauria (ankle), Brandon Pettigrew (foot), receiver Calvin Johnson (ankle), long snapper Don Muhlbach (ankle), defensive end Devin Taylor (knee), tackle LaAdrian Waddle (knee) and safety James Ihedigbo (back)."

Ihedigbo sat out of practice on Thursday due to the back injury, but it was described by Lions coach Jim Caldwell as “just one of those things”, not immediately related to anything from the last game or practice.
