Last year, spectators were treated to t-shirt style jerseys for the same occasion. Christmas Day across the NBA in 2013 looked like, at first glance, a series of highly covered scrimmages. While these are, at the very least actual sleeveless jerseys, the first name thing is just weird. Rationally, there is no reason to be upset at this temporary change, but it just seems like a gimmick that serves no real purpose. What is the novelty here?
We also need to highlight the name placement. Underneath the number? It just looks sloppy. The design of these jerseys; it resembles something a middle school kid threw together one afternoon while ignoring his boring social studies teacher. You know the one we are talking about. And it would be one thing if it was a one and done thing. But for the second straight year, the NBA is bringing this novelty back. A commemorate patch, or a Christmas theme for each team would probably suffice, if not, serve as an improvement. But who are we to criticize? Just a bunch of overly opinion sports bloggers apparently.
