Fantasy Basketball: FanDuel Lineup For November 16th

It is a light day in the NBA today, with just four games on tap. Add the fact that FanDuel is not including the Knicks-Nuggets matchup in any of their NBA contests today, and you really have to guess right on a day like today.

Here is my FanDuel lineup for November 16th:

Nov 12, 2014; Miami, FL, USA; Miami Heat guard Mario Chalmers (15) takes a breather during the second half against the Indiana Pacers at American Airlines Arena. The Pacers won 81-75. Mandatory Credit: Steve Mitchell-USA TODAY Sports

Point Guards:

Bargain:

Mario Chalmers, Heat (4.6 million): Norris Cole is technically the starter, but Chalmers still gets 30+ minutes a game. Chalmers and Cole are both big bargains, but it is a crapshoot on which one will come through for you on any given day.

Worth The Cost:

Stephen Curry, Warriors (9.6 million): Curry is the elite PG option for the day, and he has been worth it in all but one game this year.

Overpriced:

Jeremy Lin, Lakers (6 million): Cole and Chalmers will provide the same production at a third less cost.

My Lineup:

Brandon KnightĀ and Norris Cole (11.4 million): I went with Cole over Chalmers because I went with some stars today. I downgraded to Knight because his production hasn’t been that far off of Curry’s lately.

November 13, 2014; Oakland, CA, USA; Golden State Warriors guard Klay Thompson (11) shoots the basketball against the Brooklyn Nets during the third quarter at Oracle Arena. The Warriors defeated the Nets 107-99. Mandatory Credit: Kyle Terada-USA TODAY Sports

Shooting Guards:

Bargain:

Klay Thompson, Warriors (7.5 million): 7.5 million usually is not a bargain, but on a day like today it is. All of the super cheap options are lottery tickets, and you could just as easily be left with nothing. Thompson on the other hand will get you a consistent 30+ for less than D-Wade or Kobe cost you. And with Wade and Kobe both ailing, Thompson is a safe bet.

Worth The Cost:

James Harden, Rockets (10.2 million): Harden’s ridiculous per-game average warrants this high cost, but he is putting up those numbers with consistency. If you have the money, he might be the most sure thing of the day.

Overpriced:

Kobe Bryant, Lakers (9.2 million): Kobe was sick on Friday, and it showed. He struggled with his shot all night. He does not seem to be quite back to normal yet, so it may be another slightly down night for the Lakers superstar.

My Lineup:

Harden and Giannis Antetokuonmpo (15.4 million): The Greek Freak is turning it on lately, and is looking like a bargain at his 5.2 million price tag.

Nov 12, 2014; Boston, MA, USA; Oklahoma City Thunder guard Jeremy Lamb (11) dribbles the ball against the Boston Celtics during the first half at TD Garden. Mandatory Credit: Mark L. Baer-USA TODAY Sports

Small Forwards:

Bargain:

Jeremy Lamb, Thunder (5.2 million): Lamb will have the occasional stinker, but he played 45 minutes on Friday. 45! I will gamble on him for that price.

Worth The Cost:

Trevor Ariza, Rockets (6.3 million): Ariza has slowed down some, but is still a good bet to get you 25 points. He is slightly more consistent than Draymond Green, but Green has more upside if you have the spare cash.

Overpriced:

Luol Deng, Heat (6.7 million): I know it seems like I am dumping on Deng, but he is still overpriced for his production. I think that will change as the season goes on, but right now, there are better options.

My Lineup:

ArizaĀ andĀ Shawne WilliamsĀ (10.8 million): Williams is still the de-facto starter at PF for the Heat with Josh McRoberts battling ailments and inconsistency. You can do worse at his price today.

Nov 4, 2014; Los Angeles, CA, USA; Los Angeles Lakers forward Carlos Boozer (5) shoots the basketball against Phoenix Suns forward P.J. Tucker (17) during the second half at Staples Center. Mandatory Credit: Richard Mackson-USA TODAY Sports

Power Forwards:

Bargain:

Donatas Motiejunas, Rockets (4.3 million): With Terrance Jones still out, Motiejunas is seeing an extended run as a starter. As you all know, anyone that starts for this low of a price is golden in FanDuel.

Worth The Cost:

Serge Ibaka, Thunder (7.8 million): It is a very weak day at PF, and Ibaka is by far the best option on the board.

Overpriced:

Ed Davis, Lakers (4.5 million): Wait, 4.5 million is overpriced? Today it is. Davis has had a hard time pushing Carlos Boozer out of the lineup lately because Boozer is coming around. That means the run is over for Davis.

My Lineup:

Motiejunas and Carlos BoozerĀ (10.6 million): Boozer has stepped up lately, and I wanted D12 more than Ibaka. Boozer it is!

Nov 4, 2014; Los Angeles, CA, USA; Los Angeles Lakers forward Jordan Hill (27) shoots the basketball against Phoenix Suns center Alex Len (21) during the second half at Staples Center. Mandatory Credit: Richard Mackson-USA TODAY Sports

Center:

Bargain:

Jordan Hill, Lakers (6.5 million): He is the best of the rest if you can’t afford Dwight Howard or Chris Bosh.

Worth The Cost:

Dwight Howard, Rockets (9.5 million): Howard has broken 55 fantasy points twice in his last three games. He may be the best high-dollar option of the day.

Overpriced:

Larry Sanders, Bucks (6 million): Sanders has eclipsed the 25 fantasy point mark just once this month. Don’t trust him until he proves he can stay on the court and avoid foul trouble which has plagued him lately.

My Lineup:

Howard (9.5 million)
