There’s no denying that any time a lineman, be it offensive or defensive score a touchdown, we as fans hold a special place in our heart for such. It’s not that we don’t enjoy other “skill” players scoring, but given the rarity for lineman it’s essentially like finding a pot of gold at the end of the rainbow.

You can’t help but smile.

That was the case on Saturday afternoon when Mercer obliterated Warner by a score of 56-0 and apparently were enjoying the blowout win a bit too much.

Just yards from yet another touchdown, Mercer ran a counter play and looked to be swinging towards the right for an easy dump off pass. That’s essentially what they ended up doing, though in the process completely flipped the script as Mercer’s quarterback stopped on dime and flung the ball completely across the field.

Awaiting the pass was freshman tackle Thomas Marchman who had a wide open stroll into the end zone for a touchdown which lead to an impressive celebration.

First there was a choreographed bowling match which was hilarious enough by itself, though after completing such Marchman decided to show off his nibble feet and busted out an amazing cartwheel.

I can’t even do a cartwheel, so the fact the freshman tackle could pull it off, he gets some major cool points.

And yes, as expected Mercer was flagged for excessive celebration on the play but that was likely an instance where nobody on their sideline cared.
