Titans, Texans Interested In Signing Brian Hoyer In 2015?
By Josh Hill
Brian Hoyer is one of the hottest quarterbacks in the NFL right now, but he may be unwanted in Cleveland meaning two quarterback needy teams are already eyeing him as an option.
When the Cleveland Browns drafted Johnny Manziel in the first round of the Draft this year, the idea was that he’d be starting at some point in the season this year.

What no one saw coming was that Hoyer would on his way to being the Comeback Player of the Year by leading the Browns to a first place hold on the AFC North entering Week 11. That’s reality right now though, but it doesn’t mean that Hoyer is going to be in Cleveland over the long term.
According to Adam Schefter from ESPN, the Houston Texans and Tennessee Titans are at the top of the list of teams who could pursue signing Brian Hoyer if he hits free agency this spring.
"Hoyer trusts O’Brien as much as any coach in the league from their time together in New England, per sources, and would welcome a reunion. Titans HC Ken Whisenhunt, who worked with Hoyer in Arizona, also has interst, per sources. Cleveland has been in wait-and-see mode on Hoyer, whose contract expires after this season. Some around the league believe the deal could get done only as soon as the Browns truly are ready to make Hoyer, not Johnny Manziel, their long-term quarterback."
That’s growing into an bigger and bigger if as the more the Browns win with Hoyer under center, the more he’s making it harder for the team to just move on from him. He’s a stud at the moment, and whatever promise that Johnny Manziel provides is being dwarfed by what Hoyer is doing this season.
Houston landing Hoyer would be huge for the team, as the connection that the quarterback has with Bill O’Brien is unmatched it seems. That’s something that could give the Texans an edge in free agency — of course, assuming the Browns let him go.
