Ahmad Bradshaw Could Miss ‘Extended Time’
By Cory Buck
Indianapolis Colts running back Ahmad Bradshaw was seen in crutches after leaving Sunday night’s game with an ankle injury.
Just when it seemed that Indianapolis Colts running back Ahmad Bradshaw was here to stay and finally put his injury woes behind him, it appears the injury bug has reared its ugly head. Colts beat reporter Mike Chappell reported during the game that the former New York Giants running back wore a boot, noting Bradshaw could miss ‘extended time’.

Bradshaw was enjoying a renaissance in 2014, tallying over 700 yards and eight combined touchdowns before leaving the team’s Week 11 loss to the New England Patriots. If he does miss significant time, the Colts could suffer in the passing game, where Bradshaw was especially proficient, racking up six of his eight touchdowns.
Even worse for the Colts is a Bradshaw injury would leave them with the decrepit Trent Richardson to do all the work in the backfield. Richardson has been underwhelming to say the least this season. While Richardson did have a 21 yard reception in Sunday night’s loss, he also tallied precisely zero yards on seven carries, which is roughly in line with what we’d expect from Trent Richardson the rest of the way.
That means the Colts had better hope that ‘extended time’ doesn’t mean ‘beyond December’. Given how the team played against the Patriots in an NFL playoff litmus test, it’s fair to say the Colts will need all the help they can get when the games really start meaning something.
