As the longtime owner of the Dallas Cowboys, Jerry Jones has plenty of reasons to hate a variety of teams in the NFL. Perhaps there is another league owner who he’s not overly keen on or maybe he doesn’t like a particular fan base.
If you were Jerry Jones, would there be a team atop your hate list? Perhaps the San Francisco 49ers given their rivalry and historic games in the late 1980’s and early/mid 1990’s? Well, apparently not as it’s not San Francisco’s NFL franchise who makes Jones frustrated but a couple closer to home (at least division wise).
Speaking on The Fan, Jerry Jones was asked about what team he dislikes the most and while he couldn’t narrow it down the Philadelphia Eagles and New York Giants apparently boil his blood.
“I resent to this day the Giants coming in here a few years back and beating us with home field advantage and then winning the Super Bowl. I admire it, but I resent it. I will always remember it. So it doesn’t take me much to get riled up over going to New York. Then of course, Philadelphia seems like the last few years has been a real nemesis for us, and certainly after last year. So all of these guys.”
While Jerry Jones did express a distaste for the Philadelphia Eagles and New York Giants, it was all in good nature as he was quick to point out he loves the rivalry between the franchises and believes it’s great for the NFL. He also seemed to praise fans of both the Giants and Eagles suggesting they not only love their team but their city as well which is why the games between the organizations make such an impact.
