Buffalo Bills running back Fred Jackson said the team is at a ‘huge disadvantage’ after missing Wednesday’s practice in preparation for Sunday’s game vs the New York Jets.

The Buffalo Bills may not even be able to play the New York Jets on Sunday at 1PM EST as scheduled thanks to a deluge of snow that’s buried most of Western New York, including Ralph Wilson Stadium. The Bills cancelled practice on Wednesday and could be forced to do the same on Thursday, which running back Fred Jackson calls ‘a huge disadvantage’.

“I’ll tell you, we’ll be at a huge disadvantage,” Jackson said via NFL.com. “But it’s what we have to do. As a professional, you got to try and prepare as best you can.”

Doug Marrone and the Buffalo coaching staff are holed up in the team facility, preparing for the game and sending what they find to the players via digital means. Jackson acknowledged that would help.

“It’s just as simple as looking at an iPad,” Jackson said on Around the NFL. “They put all the game plans — what we want to do in situations — it’s all on there. So we’re looking at it, studying it that way. … That’s about the only way we can prepare.”

Film work pales in comparison to actual walk throughs and practice time though, which is why Fred Jackson is worried about the effect it might have on a team that repeatedly loses focus in-game with dumb penalties and turnovers. It’s nice to know the game plan, but Jackson can’t just sit around forever and toss his kids in the snow in hopes of being fully prepared.

For now anyways, the Bills will have to hope the Jets arrive in Orchard Park as unprepared as they may be. That is, if the game is even played as scheduled.
