Kansas City Chiefs fans take their rivalry with the Oakland Raiders very seriously, which is why they didn’t want to be the only win on Oakland’s record.
When the Kansas City Chiefs saw the Oakland Raiders on their schedule this week, they didn’t see an 0-10 team. Instead, they saw a rival hungry to get their first win of the season, which is what happened on Thursday night. The last winless team has finally won a game and it comes as something that the Raiders will hang their hats on no matter what their final record is.

Oakland could go 1-15 — which they will likely do — and their season will have been a minor success in that they beat the Chiefs.
Alex Smith had a chance to win it al at the end of the game but couldn’t lead the Chiefs into the end zone in the final minute of the game. That last drive acme after Derek Carr lead the Raiders on a game-winning, the first of his career.
Earlier in the evening, Latavius Murray carried the ball four times for 112 yards and a pair of touchdowns. He had to leave the game with a concussion not long after that but his impact was already felt.
Oakland is not going to the playoffs and they’re not going to be any sort of a contender this season but they got a win against a white hot Chiefs team and that’s all they could have hoped for. The Raiders tried their hardest to get in their own way, committing three fouls on a fourth down stop with just over a minute left which extended the Chiefs drive.
They also almost blew it on fourth down when the Raiders were busy celebrating well behind the line of scrimmage on fourth down, but Justin Tuck wisely called a timeout at the last possible second.
Kansas City drops to 7-4, which sets them back in their attempts to catch the Denver Broncos, but this night was all about the Raiders and how they finally broke their streak. It’s one win in 17 tries, but it came against the Chiefs which was as sweet a win as possible.
