Fantasy Basketball: FanDuel Lineups For November 23rd

It wasĀ  a rough day yesterday. I was at a college football game, so I was not able to switch out Tobias Harris before he got me a big, fat, zero. I will take this opportunity to remind you to always check back before the start if you can. If I have a chance, I will let you know if someone I recommend is held out of a game. Injuries in the NBA seem to be much more fickle than in other pro sports. That Harris one came out of nowhere!

Point Guards:

Bargain:

Mario Chalmers, Heat ($5,300): Even if Norris Cole and Dwyane Wade both manage to find their way back onto the court, I still like Chalmers. Both Cole and Wade are nursing leg injuries, so their time in the court could be cut short at any time. And the way Chalmers has played over the last two weeks, the Heat can’t afford to keep Chalmers on the bench for too long at a time. I still think Chalmers gets 30 minutes no matter what, making him one of the top value plays of the day.

Worth The Price:

Damian Lillard, Trailblazers ($8,700): There are several elite options out there today, but I prefer Lillard. He has nine straight 30+ point fantasy games, and has not been below 39 in the last five. That include a blowout win against the Bulls on Friday in which he rested most of the second half. Why was he so productive? He didn’t miss a shot! Lillard is feeling it right now, folks.

Overpriced:

Rajon Rondo, Celtics ($8,800): Rondo has a whopping 13 turnovers in his last three games to 26 assists. That is far below his season average. He is also struggling with scoring, putting up double digits in just three games this season. He does plenty else to score you fantasy points, but the escalated turnovers and trouble getting points make him best avoided today.

My Lineups:

A: Chalmers and Lillard ($14,000)

B: Lillard and Chris Paul ($18,800): Memphis has been battling illnesses the entire week, it seems. Even if most of them are back on the court, they are going to have serious issues trying to contain Paul at less that 100 percent.

Shooting Guards:

Bargain:Ā

Andre Roberson, Thunder ($4,900): Roberson has takes the starting SG job from Jeremy Lamb, at least in the short term. In his first start, Roberson racked up 22.8 fantasy points. That makes him a solid bargain at his price as long as he continues to start.

Worth The Price:

Kobe Bryant, Lakers ($9,400): He is challenging Tim Duncan for the title of ā€œageless wonder.ā€ Kobe keeps piling on the stats. It doesn’t seem to matter who the opponent is.

Overpriced:

Wesley Matthews ($6,200): Matthews has cooled off considerably lately. He has not topped 30 fantasy points in his last four games, and is hovering right around 20 in his last three. He provides a decent value, but so does Roberson at a far cheaper price.

My Lineups:

A: Roberson and Jamal Crawford ($10,900): Crawford has averaged 32 fantasy points over his last three games. With a matchup against the ailing Grizzlies, I like him to get, and knock down, quite a few open shots.

B: Crawford and Arron Afflalo ($11,100): I am mixing it up a bit with Afflalo. He is about as streaky as they come, and Shaw’s player usage in Denver leaves fantasy owners scratching their heads more often than not, but he has the potential to go off at any time. I am taking the shot at the greater upside with Afflalo over Roberson.

Small Forwards:

Bargains:

Wilson Chandler, Nuggets ($5,100): Chandler has averaged 29 fantasy points over his last four games. All veteranĀ  fantasy players know that Chandler is a streaky player. Ride him while he is hot!

Harrison Barnes, Warriors ($4,900): Barnes played 40 minutes last night against Utah, and recorded his first double-double of the season. He may not accomplish the same against the Thunder, but he should still be in the mid to high 20’s in terms of fantasy points. That’s good value for his cost.

Worth The Cost:

Jeff Green, Celtics ($6,900): Green has averaged 33 fantasy points over his last three games for the Celtics. Rondo may be struggling, but Green is picking up the scoring slack.

Overpriced:

Nicolas Batum, Trailblazers ($6,900): Batum is being eased back into action following his return from a sore knee. Restrictions will likely be in place today as well, hampering his fantasy value.

My Lineups:

A: Green and Barnes ($11,800)

B: Chandler and Shawne Williams ($9,600): Luol Deng is still rounding back into form, meaning that Williams’ value is not at zero just yet.

Power Forwards:

Bargain:

Kenneth Faried, Nuggets ($6,200): Talent-wise, Faried might be the best player the Nuggets have. They just don’t always use him as they should. So why do I recommend him here? Because the Nuggets are playing the Lakers, who have been generous giving up points this season. If this game gets out of hand, Faried could see an extended run. Also, if reports that the Nuggets are trying to move Faried are true, they have to showcase his talents, right?

Worth The Cost:

LaMarcus Aldridge, Trailblazers ($9,300): Aldridge has not been under 35 fantasy points since November 6th. That includes his limited minutes against the Bulls on Friday. He is as consistent of an option as you can find among high dollar players tonight.

Zach Randolph, Grizzlies ($8,000): Z-Bo is about as consistent as they come as well. He has not been under 22 fantasy points since November 5th. By contrast, Blake Griffin has been under that twice since then. Griffin definitely has higher upside, but Randolph is $1,200 cheaper.

Overpriced:

Carlos Boozer, Lakers ($6,700): Boozer has been under 20 fantasy points twice in his last four games. Don’t take this unnecessary risk.

My Lineups

A: Randolph and Jared Sullinger ($16.100): Sullinger consistently produces at well above his price range. I will play him until his price increases above $8,000 no matter the opponent.

B: Sullinger and Aldridge ($16,400)

Center:

Bargain:

Jordan Hill, Lakers ($6,600): Hill has three consecutive games over 30 fantasy points. Despite the struggles of much of the team, Hill is still putting up some nice numbers, and warrants your attention. Especially against the patchwork center situation in Denver.

Worth The Cost:

Al Jefferson, Hornets ($8,700): Jefferson erased the doubts brought up by his poor start with 83 fantasy points in his last two games. To put that in perspective, that is more than his previous four before that.

Marc Gasol, Grizzlies ($8,100): He has topped the 40 point fantasy mark three times in his last four games.

Overpriced:

DeAndre Jordan, Clippers ($7,200): Jordan has just 46 fantasy points in his last two games combined. While this trend won’t likely continue, there are safer options tonight.

My Lineups:

A: Gasol ($8,100)

B: Steven Adams ($4,000): He is a starter for 4 grand. That’s potential for a huge value!
