Josh Gordon will finally return to the Cleveland Browns this week, but he will reportedly play on a limited basis in his first action of the 2014 NFL season.
Stud wide receiver Josh Gordon played in the preseason. He has been practicing and training at the team facility. One assumes, then, that the transition to game action might be accelerated as Gordon finally returns from suspension in week 12.

What people perhaps did not expect, however, was that the Browns would be a team in the playoff hunt when Gordon returns. That ramps up the meaningfulness if Gordon can return at anything near the dominant level at which he played last season.
Between fans, fantasy owners, opposing teams, and the Browns themselves, everybody is anxious to see what Gordon can offer. But even if he is physically ready, it sounds like the Browns are still going to ease Gordon into game action. According to Adam Schefter:
In first game back today after serving 10-game suspension, Browns WR Josh Gordon is expected to play between 20-30 plays, per league source.

This could be sincere, but it could also be some gamesmanship in advance of Gordon’s return on the part of the Browns.
The lead-up to this game has seemed to indicate that most people expect Gordon to jump right into things. What could also happen is that the Browns could enter the game with the intentions of limiting his snaps, only to play him more because of game flow.
It should be interesting to see, but all eyes will be on Josh Gordon on Sunday.
