There aren’t many situations less enviable for a defender in the NFL than being caught in the open field with LeSean McCoy of the Philadelphia Eagles.
The running back has routinely put the opposition on a poster in one-on-one situations and that’s exactly what happened to Michael Griffin of the Tennessee Titans on Sunday afternoon.
Already trailing by ten points, Griffin appeared to be the last line of defense for the Titans as McCoy broke through the line and was off to the races. Likely just hoping to get a hand on LeSean McCoy or even get him out of bounds, Griffin took an angle towards the Philadelphia Eagles running back and looked to be in position to make a play.
Or so he thought.
Right as Griffin went for the tackle, LeSean McCoy busted out a video game juke move that sent the defender into an embarrassing dive towards the sideline while McCoy blew right by him.
Ouch.
If there any solace for Michael Griffin its just that he’s one of many on LeSean McCoy’s football bedpost to whom he’s put to sleep. Still, he’s going to find himself plastered on highlight films not only tonight and this week but for a long time in the future as this one will certainly go on McCoy’s career juke list.
