The New England Patriots hammered the Detroit Lions 34-9 Sunday and Lions center Dominic Raiola was unhappy about a late touchdown, so he took action.

The Detroit Lions lined up to take a knee on the final play of a 34-9 loss to the New England Patriots at Foxborough, Mass., on Sunday, but Lions center Dominic Raiola apparently wasn’t done playing just yet.

After snapping the ball to quarterback Matthew Stafford, Raiola took a dive at the knees of Patriots defensive lineman Zach Moore.

Cheap? Yes. But he was unrepentant.

"“I cut him,” Raiola told the Detroit Free Press. “We took a knee, so I cut the nose (tackle). They went for six (a touchdown). They went for a touchdown at two minutes. They could have took three knees and the game could have been over.“It’s football. He wants to keep playing football, let’s play football. Not a big deal. It’s football.”"

On the play that angered Raiola, LeGarrette Blount scored a 1-yard touchdown run with 1:53 remaining in the game and New England leading 27-9.

Of course, this isn’t the first time Raiola has been a flaming as bit of a jerk.

Last year, he reportedly verbally abused members of the University of Wisconsin band prior to the national anthem and again after the halftime show at Lambeau Field.

In 2009, he cursed at fans at Ford Field who were mocking then-rookie quarterback Stafford. And in 2008, he flipped off Lions fans during a loss to the Minnesota Vikings at Ford Field, in the midst of Detroit’s 0-16 season.
