New Orleans Saints quarterback Drew Brees has seen just about everything in 14 years, so double coverage from the Baltimore Ravens didn’t faze him.

Drew Brees of the New Orleans Saints pump-faked once and let the ball rip downfield toward wide receiver Marques Colston.

And two Baltimore Ravens defensive backs.

Not to worry. Safeties Matt Elam and Terrence Brooks almost appeared to take each other out of the play and Colston had the 26-yard touchdown grab.

The play gave the Saints a 17-14 lead with just 17 seconds left in the first half. They kept that lead at the break.

The game is an important once for both the Ravens and Saints. Baltimore would be the fifth AFC team to join a crowd at 7-4 that is tied for the two wild-card spots.

New Orleans, meanwhile, can assume sole possession of the NFC Sewer South with a win after the Atlanta Falcons lost Sunday to fall to 4-7. The Saints would be 5-6 with a win Monday.

For Brees, it was his 304th touchdown pass since coming to New Orleans and the 384th of his career. He threw a 10-yard score to Jimmy Graham earlier in the game.

The 384 touchdown passes pulls Brees to within one of fourth-place Tom Brady on the NFL’s all-time list.
