The Buffalo Bills made themselves right at home at Detroit’s Ford Field Monday night, thrashing the New York Jets 38-3 in a game relocated by heavy snow in Buffalo.
The New York Jets should have just stayed home.
Instead, they showed up at Ford Field in Detroit for their weather-delayed matchup against the Buffalo Bills and were lambasted 38-3.
Buffalo (6-5) was coming off a week where its preparation was severely curtailed because of the heavy snow that hit the Buffalo area, with the team not able to practice at all until it got to Detroit.
The Jets (2-9) were coming off a bye and had two weeks to get ready for the Bills.

Score one against the “preparation time” argument.
The Jets turned the ball over once, Michael Vick was wildly inaccurate, the Bills blocked a punt for a touchdown—it was a perfect storm.
The game got out of hand in the third quarter after Buffalo led 14-3 at the half.
The Bills put up 17 points in less than five minutes, beginning with a long drive resulting in Dan Carpenter’s 53-yard field goal on the first drive of the second half.
After forcing a three-and-out, Buffalo’s Anthony Dixon blocked Ryan Quigley’s punt, with Manny Lawson recovering the ball in the end zone for a touchdown and a 24-3 lead.
For good measure, Vick threw his lone interception of the night on New York’s next possession. Duke Williams returned it 34 yards to the Jets’ 16 and three plays later, Fred Jackson scored on a 5-yard run to ensure the rout was on.
Kyle Orton was an efficient 24-for-32 for 230 yards and two touchdowns for the Bills before E.J. Manuel came in to mop up. Dixon, in addition to the blocked punt, rushed for 54 yards on 12 carries, including a 30-yard touchdown in the fourth quarter, while Robert Woods had nine receptions for 118 yards and a score in the second period.
Vick was just 7-for-19 for 76 yards and an interception and was yanked in favor of Geno Smith following the pick.
The Bills sacked Vick and Smith seven times, with Jerry Hughes and Mario Williams each netting a pair.
Buffalo will return home—hopefully—to host the Cleveland Browns (7-4) on Sunday. The Jets will be on again next Monday, hosting the Miami Dolphins (6-5).
