"“It’s one of those games, we just … it’s embarrassing. We’ve got to chalk it up and have a short-term memory. That’s the most important thing, not to lose our swagger, not to lose our confidence. Just come out with a mission, come out on a mission to really take it out on our next opponent, which happens to be Chicago, who is also another good team regardless of what their schedule says.”"
Tate has been an absolutely huge pickup for the Lions all season long, and has stepped up in a big way for Matthew Stafford with the injury issues that Calvin Johnson has suffered through. There is no denying that he is one of the leaders for this team, and will continue to be one moving forward.
Detroit has been one of the better teams in the NFL all season long, but the Green Bay Packers are now in first place in the NFC North. The Packers have been playing out of their minds over the past eight weeks, and have won seven out of their last eight games. It is going to be a battle to the end of the season, but the Lions do currently have one head-to-head win over their division rival.
Losing to the Patriots is by no means an embarrassing thing, and the Packers will have to face New England next week as well. The Lions have to find a way to keep their head up despite the blowout loss, and focus on getting the division lead back next week if the Packers lose to the Patriots as well.
There are plenty of reasons to be disappointed in the loss to the Patriots, but they can’t dwell on it too long. New England is a quality football team that took care of business at home, and that is all that the Lions should see in that loss. They are a good football team as well, and rebounding from a tough loss is something that good teams have to do.
