Kansas City Conductor Honors Bet, Wears Giants Jersey (Video)
By Hayden Kane
The conductor of the Kansas City Symphony honored a best from this past year’s MLB World Series, wearing a San Francisco Giants jersey during a performance.
It’s not just a Giants’ jersey. It’s a Hunter Pence jersey. That’s above and beyond, even for a World Series bet.

When it comes to fulfilling the terms of a World Series wager between the San Francisco Symphony and the Kansas City Symphony, that seems to be an especially cruel way to do so. Had the Kansas City Royals won, the San Francisco symphony would have had to do something close to the same, but there is no equivalent of the eccentric Mr. Pence.
In order to pay up because the Royals lost to the Giants, the conductor wore said Hunter Pence jersey. They group performed ‘The National Game’ by John Philip Sousa. Besides the appropriateness of the piece itself, the symphony even had a little showdown between the Giants and Royals on stage and held up some Hunter Pence signs.
Check out video of the jersey unveiling and the entertaining performance below.
Everybody loves a Sousa march and everybody loves baseball. This performance serves as a great reminder that this is all supposed to be fun.
