Johnny Manziel and his entourage were involved with an altercation with an overly hyped fan this past weekend. Manziel’s face reportedly was not ‘smashed’ after the incident, despite claims otherwise.
The NFL wants this to go away. The Cleveland Browns want this to go away. Johnny Manziel and his entourage want this to go away.

Whoever was at fault in an incident that ended with Manziel’s entourage beating up a fan, one thing is clear: this is not the type of story that anybody wants to see linger except perhaps the alleged victim.
In attempting to clear things up on Friday, Manziel spoke out and said that fan Chris Gonos was drunk and aggressive when he approached him in a hotel lobby. If that was the case, one can certainly wonder if Gonos’s claim that he just “wanted to hug Manziel” was disingenuous.
Mary Kay Cabot passes along another potential hole in the story told by Gonos about the incident.
#browns manziel's face showed no signs of having been "smashed, smashed," as Gonos claims it was.

Such as these things go, it is likely that nobody was without fault in this situation. As we parse through various details of the incident, all we know for sure is that everybody handled themselves poorly in an altogether stupid situation.
