Following a 19-3 victory over the NFC West divisional rival San Francisco 49ers on Thursday night, Seahawks RB Marshawn Lynch continued his efforts to dodge the media.
As you probably know by now, Lynch has always had an aversion to speaking with the media following games. Recently, it has become spotlighted even further. First, there was the fine 2 weeks ago for not speaking at all. Then last week, Lynch decided to answer virtually all questions addressed to him with a simple “yeah.” Now, it would appear that he is up to the same antics this week. However, the guy has a new favorite word, “nope.”
For those who are curious, this clip, courtesy of Vine, details all you need to know about the headline.
There is a simple football-related irony to be discovered here. How can an offensive player like Marshawn Lynch be so defensive in terms of exposure to media? And for that matter, we can ask the opposite for CB Richard Sherman, who may very well be the polar opposite of Lynch. Since the Seahawks playoff run last year, Sherman has become one of the most marketable players in the league, along with QB Russell Wilson. In fact, lately, it would appear that Marshawn Lynch is the lone man out, in more than just one way.
