Both the Cleveland Cavaliers and Los Angeles Clippers have trade interest in Andrei Kirilenko of the Brooklyn Nets.

More from Brooklyn Nets

When Andrei Kirilenko decided to sign with the Brooklyn Nets, the hope was that the versatile small forward would be an intricate piece to t potential championship caliber team.

That didn’t happen though as Kirilenko didn’t play up to par while the Brooklyn Nets never achieved such a status despite a payroll that could support a third world country.

Now the veteran forward has left the team for the foreseeable future and his return is unknown as he deals with a family matter back in Russia.

All that said, he’s still on the Brooklyn Nets roster and is drawing trade interest from multiple teams. Two of those interested in Andrei Kirilenko are that of the Cleveland Cavaliers and Los Angeles Clippers, this according to Yahoo Sports.

However considering the uncertainty regarding Kirilenko’s return to the United States, it’s likely no deal will be worked out until closer to the NBA’s February trade deadline assuming there is any trade at all.

"The Cleveland Cavaliers and Los Angeles Clippers are two contenders with needs at small forward who’ll wait to see if Kirilenko, 33, becomes available closer to the NBA’s trade deadline in February, or after a contract buyout later in the season, league sources said."

There is no denying that Andrei Kirilenko is no longer the player he once was and has seemingly declined in just about every area of his game, though he’s still a very servicable role player and could be an extremely solid addition to a team looking to make a postseason run.

You can’t imagine the asking price would be all that much given his contractual situation and the Brooklyn Nets’ lack of need for the forward, so perhaps we’ll see him changing zip codes in the next few months.
