While Golden State Warriors star Stephen Curry isn’t much of a player on the defensive end, he’s undoubtedly one of the most gifted offensive players in the game.
That’s not to say he’s completely void of any warts however as the All-Star has been trouble securing the ball this season as he’s been turning the rock over at an alarming rate. Curry has been working to fix such and apparently it’s his mother who has helped.
Or maybe it’s the fear of losing money.
Curry, who’s the son of former NBA star Dell Curry, decided to bet with his mother Sonya that he would be able to keep his turnovers under two a game. If he turns the ball over more than that? It’s Momma Curry who pockets some extra change.
“Over two (in a game), I owe her some money,” Curry said, smiling. “And the Phoenix game (when Curry committed 10 turnovers), she racked up pretty heavily. So if I go below two, I get the money back. That’s my incentive, my motivation.”
It doesn’t sound like Sonya has to pay her son any cash if he keeps his turnovers at two or under for the game which makes the ‘bet’ pretty one-sided in her favor. Of course, I doubt she’s complaining and it seems to be pretty good motivation for Stephen Curry who has only turned the ball over more than twice one time in his past four games.
Not shockingly all of those games have been wins for the Golden State Warriors who haven’t dropped a game that Curry has played in since November 11th.
