For years Joe Montana, Dwight Clark and the San Francisco 49ers held the title of owning ‘The Catch’.
That’s unlikely to ever change given the historic nature and importance of the moment though Odell Beckham of the New York Giants certainly made his case known when he made a jaw dropping grab against the Dallas Cowboys last week.
No, the significance wasn’t even comparable though the degree of difficulty was certainly much higher as Beckham, all but falling out of bounds reached back and palmed the pigskin with one hand en route to a touchdown.
Many believed the grab to be the catch of the year and some even suggested it’s the best we’ve seen in a decade plus. That’s obviously personal opinion, though there’s no denying how beautiful the catch was.
On top of that, always one to capitalize on an investment opportunity, Nike crafted some custom gloves for the New York Giants wide receiver and Odell Beckham Jr. showed off the threads today.
Good thing the photographer didn’t capture the Beats logo in that picture…
In all seriousness, though are some pretty impressive gloves. You have to think if they released those to the public they’d make a mint as they already do with their current collection of NFL inspired gloves.
Also, nice touch from Nike to not only get a silhouette of Odell Beckham Jr. on the glove but to also get their own logo on his gloves silhouette.
