There is no word on who will be the Cleveland Browns‘ starter in Week 14, but Brian Hoyer offered up an assessment of his time as the team’s starting quarterback.

One of the most intriguing storylines entering Week 14 of the NFL regular season is whether the Cleveland Browns will roll with Brian Hoyer or Johnny Manziel as the team’s starting quarterback against the Indianapolis Colts.

While Browns head coach Mike Pettine has yet to name a starter for Week 14, Brian Hoyer decided to speak on his time leading the first-team offense.

Hoyer made it clear that he believes he has done enough to hang on to the job and he points to his record to back his claim.

“I don’t have any doubt in myself. I never have, throughout this entire process, going back to last year. I feel like we’re 7-5, we still have a chance to attain all of our goals. It’s still there in front of us,” Hoyer said, via Pro Football Talk. “We won three games last year when I started. I mean, 10-5 as a starting quarterback is not bad.”

Unfortunately for Hoyer, when he was benched in favor of first-round pick Johnny Manziel against the Buffalo Bills on Sunday, Manziel provided a spark to the offense.

Manziel also scored a rushing touchdown on his first drive.

All signs point towards Johnny Manziel taking over for Brian Hoyer as the Browns’ starter against the Colts, but nothing will be confirmed until Pettine makes an announcement.

As for Hoyer, it looks like he will need to turn his attention to potential suitors in 2015.
