The Atlanta Falcons expect star wide receiver Roddy White to return from his ankle injury for the NFL’s Monday Night Football game next week against the Green Bay Packers.

Roddy White was held out of this past weeks game against the Arizona Cardinals due to a sprained ankle, but the Atlanta Falcons are expecting their star wide receiver to return for Monday Night Football against the Green Bay Packers.

The Packers have been playing excellent football of late, and the Falcons know that they need to be fully healthy if they want to head into Lambeau Field and come away with a win.

From Pro Football Talk:

"Coach Mike Smith told reporters that he anticipates veteran wideout Roddy White to return for next Monday’s game against the Packers. White was inactive for their win against the Cardinals with an ankle sprain, though they had expressed the requisite optimism last week as well."

The Green Bay defense hasn’t been all that great this season, but they have been just good enough to help their offense out. Aaron Rodgers is playing at an unbelievable level and is beginning to run away with the MVP race. Atlanta is going to have a very tough task finding a way to knock them off on the road.

That being said, if they can get a huge performance from their two star receivers in Julio Jones and White, they should be able to stick around and make a game of it. Steven Jackson will need to be on his game as well, as one of Green Bay’s biggest weaknesses is against the run. There is simply no denying that the Falcons have a shot if they play up to their full potential.

Needless to say, it’s going to be a very fun game to watch and it isn’t likely to be a blowout. The Packers have the advantage of having Rodgers on their side, but the Falcons have some big playmakers offensively as well. It will likely end up coming down to which defense steps up a couple times throughout the course of the game.

White playing is big for the Falcons, and will help them in a big way as they attempt to come up with a huge win and keep them at the top of the NFC South division.
