With one of the worst records in the NBA currently, the Charlotte Hornets are looking to improve their roster with trades.

While some pundits believed the Charlotte Hornets could potentially have been a top four team in the Eastern Conference coming into the season, such a projection seemed a bit immature for a team who was just seemingly turning the corner out of the basement.

Still, with the addition of Lance Stephenson there was plenty of reason to believe the Hornets could be a serious threat in the East. So far that has proven to be anything but as Charlotte currently sits as the third-worst team in their conference at 4-14.

The slow start has put a damper on the Hornets playoff aspirations though the front office is hoping to correct the poor play with roster moves.

That’s the word from Grantland who says the Charlotte Hornets have been aggressive in the trade market.

"The Hornets are searching for upgrades on the wing and at power forward, per those sources, and they are willing to talk turkey on basically anyone other than Kemba Walker and Al Jefferson."

Simply put a collection of Kemba Walker, Al Jefferson and Lance Stephenson is a solid core for a middle of the pack playoff team in a top heavy Eastern Conference though isn’t going to do any significant damage when push comes to shove.

Add in the poor start to the season and the promise the Hornets had going into the season is quickly evaporating. Winning of course cures all though you have to wonder if the current roster has enough talent to be achieve anything more than a bottom level playoff seed after the hiccup to start the year.
