During the Kansas City Chiefs loss to the Denver Broncos on Sunday night, tight end Travis Kelce made waves for making what looked to be a wanking motion in the direction of Broncos defender.
That’s indeed what he was doing as Kansas City’s budding star was unhappy with what he perceived to be a cheap shot on his quarterback Alex Smith, delivered by Denver linebacker Von Miller.
But a jerking off motion? What does that have to do with a late hit on a quarterback? Was he calling Von Miller a jerk? Not really as Travis Kelce decided to explain himself on Twitter in a now removed tweet.
So, reading between the lines here, it seems as if Travis Kelce believed that Von Miller needed a ‘shot to the face’ and simulated such by jerking off as if he was ejaculating?
I’m not sure if that’s the most strange trash talk I’ve ever heard or quite possibly the best.
The sentiment from Kelce didn’t last long as the tweet was removed rather quickly and lead to an apology from the Kansas City Chiefs tight end who said he ‘forgot’ he couldn’t express himself on social media.
There doesn’t seem to be anything wrong with Kelce expressing his frustration online though the fact that he attempted to explain his actions by hinting he was essentially unloading himself on Von Miller is probably what created a bit of a flub.
Honestly, while a little vile, the comment was pretty funny and it was nice to see Kelce bursting out of the box the NFL so desires their players remain in. Hopefully he doesn’t stop with the verbal assaults and hand gestures all because the league is watching now.
