Currently sitting at 6-6, the Houston Texans might just be an average team in the standings though their roster is filled with some of the kindest guys in the NFL.
We’ve already seen such on display from MVP candidate J.J. Watt who not only sent local Houston fire and police departments free pizza as a thank you for their service but we’ve also seen Watt making a young Texans fans birthday.
Now it’s the turn of wide receiver Andre Johnson who took local kids on a $16,000 holiday shopping spree in his annual ‘Andre Claus’ tradition.
While Andre Johnson was joined by the Houston Texans cheerleaders, it’s an event the Pro Bowl talent puts on by himself on a yearly basis and he fronts his own money for the cause.
Despite the media coverage, it’s not something that Andre Johnson publicizes in effort to appeal to the masses but rather does it because he’s an awesome guy with a big heart. However given the tradition, news agencies have started covering the annual shopping spree because it’s become so popular and Johnson deserves some praise for going above and beyond off the field.
