Free agent NFL running back Ray Rice has yet to receive a workout invite from any team, while other running backs have had interest shown in them.
Ray Rice is hoping that some NFL team needing help at the running back position will give him a second chance, but so far no one is biting on that opportunity. He was reinstated to the NFL and is allowed to sign with any team at any time, but many teams aren’t too interested following the domestic violence issues that he had earlier this season.

Other running backs around the league have gotten workouts, so this isn’t simply an issue of teams not being interest in running backs.
According to Pro Football Talk, the Cleveland Browns worked out Shaun Draughn, the Indianapolis Colts worked out Mikel Leshoure, the New York Giants worked out both Dion Lewis and Chris Ogbonnaya (who they signed), and the Washington Redskins tried out Terrance Cobb.
There is no question that Rice still has the talent to help a team out, but no one is interested in giving a man who punched his wife unconscious a second chance. That may change as time continues on, but it will take a lot more time than has currently passed.
That being said, there have been rumors of teams that have shown interest in Rice. Adam Schefter mentioned that four teams have shown interest in Rice but aren’t close to a deal.

It will be very intriguing to see when and if Rice gets another chance in the NFL. More than likely there will be a team that decides to give him another chance in the offseason, but it isn’t too likely that he gets back on an NFL field this year. Rice just needs to continue working out and staying in shape, and continue waiting patiently for another chance.
