The Philadelphia 76ers started the season 0-17 but would not make history by losing tonight and instead pulled off a win against the Minnesota Timberwolves

More from Minnesota Timberwolves

They did it, they actually did it.

The Philadelphia 76ers were one game away at 0-17 from tying a league record of worst start in NBA history but couldn’t even do that right, ending their losing streak by beating the Timberwolves 85-77.

The 76ers were not on their game all night, but neither was Minnesota. Example you may ask? The game had to restart after tipoff because the teams were running the wrong way.

Philadelphia only scored nine points in the second quarter but were still only down 34-32.

However, luck and a little bit of skill were finally able to help the team pull away from the Timberwolves.

On their way to a pretty exciting 85-77 win over the Timberwolves, Michael Carter-Williams nearly had a triple-double, putting up 20 points, nine rebounds and nine assists. It’s OK to be surprised or happy if you’re a Sixer fan, the team is too. Just take a look at some of their tweets.

Don’t get to happy, though. The team is still on it’s way to make the worst NBA record ever, which is already held by the 1972 version of the team. The 76ers are not predicted to exactly win any more games either, probably and if they shoot 39 percent and/or turn the ball over 19 times in any other games this year, they’ll lose those. Unless it’s obviously against Minnesota.

The 76ers play the reborn Oklahoma City Thunder Friday, so the celebration might not last long.
