Kevin Love says he plans to stay with the Cleveland Cavaliers for the foreseeable future and that he’s a  Cav ‘long term’.

If Cleveland Cavaliers fans want to take Kevin Love on his word, the All-Star power forward will not be leaving the organization anytime soon. In fact, he plans to be a member of the Cavs for a long time.

That’s the word from Kevin Love himself who appeared on ESPN Radio’s Mike and Mike this morning and stated that he has no intention of leaving the franchise moving forward.

“Whether we lose two or three games in a row, or there’s a game where my statistical output isn’t necessarily what it should be, people are always going to talk,” Love said. “Since I was traded to Cleveland this summer, I’ve said since Day 1 that I’m a Cleveland Cavalier long term and I plan for it to be that way. If I could end all the speculation now, I would. But people are going to continue to talk no matter what.”

For what it’s worth, Love, as he stated, has routinely said that he plans to stay with the Cleveland Cavaliers though rumors have continued to swirl suggesting otherwise. A potential free agent to be at season end, Love could bolt for another team like the Los Angeles Lakers, who have reported significant interest, though Kevin Love doesn’t publically seem interested in heading to Southern California where he played college basketball at UCLA.

Simply put, there’s not a lot of reason to leave a franchise if LeBron James is on the roster and that appears to be something Kevin Love is fully aware of.

As Love notes, his sentiment isn’t likely to end speculation though it will likely provide some comfort to fans of the Cleveland Cavaliers.
