Kobe Bryant suggests that he’s happy with the Los Angeles Lakers roster and is appreciative of the front office.

More from Los Angeles Lakers

Currently 36-years-old, Kobe Bryant knows his playing days in the NBA are numbered. Given that, you’d expect that the Black Mamba who loathes losing more than just about any player in the league would be fed up with the Los Angeles Lakers.

Despite two consecutive victories, the Lakers sit at a woeful 5-13 and are destined for yet another trip to the draft lottery. Still, despite the losses, Kobe Bryant isn’t fed up with the Lakers, in fact, he’s appreciative of what’s going on around him.

From the hard work his teammates are putting in to the front offices’ attempt to bring in key free agents, Kobe Bryant appears oddly happy with the direction of the Los Angeles Lakers.

“The idea of me having no patience is misunderstood,” Bryant told Yahoo Sports. “I don’t have patience when we’re not putting the work in, if I see that we’re not doing our job as professionals. If that’s happening, I’ll let my team know about it. But this is not that kind of group. We work. These guys want to get better every day. They’re there early working, they’re there late working.

“This organization put forth a lot of effort to try and land some of these top free agents. They went for it. I respect that. I appreciate that.”

Who took the Kobe Bryant we all know and replaced him with this kinder, more nurturing player?! We don’t have to scroll back very far to remember Bryant slamming the Lakers front office and calling out some of his teammates last year despite only playing in six games due to his injuries.

Maybe Kobe Bryant is starting to realize he can’t play basketball forever and is enjoying being on the court, win or lose. Whatever the case, despite the burning desire to win, the Black Mamba seems to be taking everything in stride.

That or maybe Kobe is still a little off from getting teabagged the other night. Dude can still embarrass his defender though.
