Fantasy Basketball: FanDuel Lineups For December 4th

My B lineup got over 300 points last night. That should have been good for at least a little money depending on what contest you entered.

More from FanDuel

There are only three games in the NBA tonight, so there are very few options for your lineups tonight. Who is worth spending on? I will try to let you know!

Here are my FanDuel lineups for December 4th:

Dec 2, 2014; Cleveland, OH, USA; Milwaukee Bucks guard Brandon Knight (left) dribbles against Cleveland Cavaliers guard Kyrie Irving (2) in the second quarter at Quicken Loans Arena. Mandatory Credit: David Richard-USA TODAY Sports

Point Guards:

Bargain:

C.J. Watson, Pacers ($3,800): Yes, I know Watson is technically a backup, but he has outscored Donald Sloan in each of the last two games fantasy-wise. Sloan is struggling, and Watson has seen an increase in minutes in each game this season. Sloan is still listed as the starter tonight, but there is a good chance that Watson plays just as much as he does. It is a risk that I am willing to take on a light night.

Worth The Cost:

Kyrie Irving, Cavaliers ($8,300): Irving has outscored Stephen Curry and Damian Lillard, the other two high dollar options at PG tonight, over the last three games. He doesn’t seem to have as much upside as Curry does, but the $1,600 you save can help you afford another star.

Risky Play:

Donald Sloan, Pacers ($5,100): Sloan’s value has taken a massive hit with Rodney Stuckey and C.J. Watson joining the Pacers’ backcourt. He has just 25.8 points combined over his last two games. He has also played just 23 minutes per game despite being the starter. Before those two returned, he was averaging 30 minutes a game. This harms his fantasy value, and makes him a risky play in daily leagues.

My Lineups:

A: Irving and Watson ($12,100)

B: Irving and Jose Calderon ($14,100): Calderon has topped 25 fantasy points in three of the last four games, and finally seems to be getting going in the Knicks offense. I couldn’t afford to go with Jrue Holliday without taking too big of a step down elsewhere, so I am taking the chance on Calderon.

Nov 30, 2014; Portland, OR, USA; Portland Trail Blazers guard Wesley Matthews (2) drives to the basket on Minnesota Timberwolves guard Mo Williams (25) during the first quarter of the game at the Moda Center at the Rose Quarter. Mandatory Credit: Steve Dykes-USA TODAY Sports

Shooting Guards:

Bargain:

Wesley Matthews, Trailblazers ($6,100): While Matthews is not a true bargain in the sense that he is undervalued, he has not scored under 20 fantasy points this season, and has a few games in the 30’s. He is remarkably consistent, and there really are no bargains at SG tonight unless you want to play roulette with Tim Hardaway, Jr.

Worth The Cost:

Tyreke Evans, Hornets ($7,500): Evans has outscored tonight’s most expensive option at SG, Klay Thompson, over the last five games. On the season, their averages at 0.1 points apart, with Evans having the slight advantage. You really can’t go wrong with either of them on a night like tonight.

Risky Play:

Rodney Stuckey, Pacers ($4,800): Like Donald Sloan, Stuckey’s value has also taken a hit with the return of the C.J.’s (Watson and Miles). They are both taking minutes from Stuckey, which is unfortunate because he was one of the better bargains in the game last week.

My Lineups:

A: Matthews and Klay Thompson ($13,700)

B: Matthews and Evans ($13,600)

Nov 25, 2014; Miami, FL, USA; Golden State Warriors forward Harrison Barnes (40) dunks the ball as Miami Heat forward Udonis Haslem (40) looks on during the first half at American Airlines Arena. Mandatory Credit: Steve Mitchell-USA TODAY Sports

Small Forwards:

Bargain:

Harrison Barnes, Warriors ($5,100): Barnes has been over 20 fantasy points in all but one game since the first week of the season. He has also thrown in a couple of 30 fantasy point efforts in there, so he is a good cheaper option on a light night. Draymond Green will play tonight, but there is a chance that he could be feeling some ill effects from the thumb injury that he suffered on Tuesday. That could provide a few more looks for Barnes or Andre Iguodala.

Worth The Cost:

Carmelo Anthony, Knicks ($9,000): Melo has outscored King James fantasy-wise in his two games since back spasms kept him out of the lineup for two games. He is showing no ill effects, scoring 87.4 fantasy points in those two contests.

Risky Play:

Solomon Hill, Pacers ($4,900): Are you seeing a pattern here? All of the Pacers that produced so well early in the season are losing their roles in the team since their backcourt is getting healthy. It is great for the Pacers and their depth, but not so good for bargain seeking FanDuel players.

My Lineups:

A: Barnes andĀ Draymond GreenĀ ($11,600)

B: Barnes and Nicolas Batum ($11,700): Batum is rounding back into form, at least enough to roll with on a light night.

Dec 2, 2014; Denver, CO, USA; Denver Nuggets center J.J. Hickson (7) falls to the ground defending against Portland Trail Blazers forward LaMarcus Aldridge (12) in the fourth quarter at Pepsi Center. Power Forwards:

Bargain:

Amare Stoudemire, Knicks ($5,500): Amare has averaged 31.5 fantasy points over his last three games, and is getting heavy minutes in the Knicks frontcourt rotation. Look for that to continue until he cools off. If he cools off.

Worth The Cost:

LaMarcus Aldridge, Trailblazers ($9,800): Anthony Davis can be a difference maker. No one has scored over 60 fantasy points more than him this season. That said, no one over $10,000 has had as many games in the 30’s as he has either. Aldridge is the model of consistency. He does not have a 60 point game, but he lowest total is 33.8. He is always between 38 and 50 points. If you are looking for the home run to win, go with Davis. If you are good with the RBI double to tie the game, go with Aldridge.

Risky Play:

David West, Pacers ($6,700): West and Luis Scola are playing nearly the same amount of minutes right now, and who can blame the Pacers for being a little careful with West? They know he is critical to this team making a run. The uncertainty makes him a risky play in daily leagues because his price is still based on his 30 fantasy point average from last year.

My Lineups:

A and B: Stoudemire and Aldridge ($15,300)

Nov 19, 2014; Cleveland, OH, USA; Cleveland Cavaliers center Anderson Varejao (17) grabs a rebound in the fourth quarter against the San Antonio Spurs at Quicken Loans Arena. Mandatory Credit: David Richard-USA TODAY Sports

Center:

Bargain:

Anderson Varejao, Cavaliers ($5,100): Varejao’s fantasy numbers will likely continue to fluctuate some with all of the talent around him. He has still be a solid mid-20’s contributor, and occassionally gets over 30. For $5K, that is about what you’re looking for.

Worth The Cost:

Roy Hibbert, Pacers ($6,700): Hibbert looked like he hadn’t missed a beat in his return to the court on Tuesday. His 32.5 fantasy points were three points above his season average. Look for consistent production from Hibbert.

Risky Play:

Samuel Dalembert, Knicks ($3,700): I am convinced that Derek Fisher chooses his lineups by throwing darts at a dartboard. Who will start at center? Will it be Dalembert? Jason Smith? Amare Stoudemire even? Who knows. Therein lies the risk, but you should be able to count on Dalembert for 20 minutes. What that gives as far as fantasy production is anyone’s guess.

My Lineups:

A: Andrew Bogut ($7,000): Bogut has been putting up good numbers and staying healthy this year. It probably won’t last, but that is the beauty of daily leagues. It doesn’t have to. He just has to make it through tonight’s game.

B: Varejao ($5,100)
