I Want My Player Back! Starring Brett Lawrie (Video)
A little girl in Toronto cried on YouTube after her favorite player, former Blue Jays third baseman Brett Lawrie, was traded to the Oakland Athletics in exchange for Josh Donaldson.
What exactly compels a fan to deem Brett Lawrie their favorite hometown MLB player? Can we name any significant moments in the guy’s career that stand out to warrant such praise?

The answers to both questions are clearly subjective. However, both conditions were met for one little girl in Toronto. In this YouTube video, we see a true fan properly emote over the loss of the best player on the team, in her eyes. If you do not believe us that such displays still exist, we implore you to take a look at the footage below.
She is right, you know. That Billy Beane is one crafty dude. There is an entire book, and subsequent movie on that subject matter. Clearly there was a reason the Athletics made a play for Lawrie. So it is very possible (and likely) that he we never suit up for Toronto ever again.
Nevertheless, this kid needs to cheer up. She has at least a couple of years left to grow attached to Donaldson before he inevitably gets traded and the process repeats itself. That is what true fanhood is all about; cycles of depression, sadness, joy, and hope. This just appears to be an early life lesson for one tiny baseball fan.
