There’s no denying that on the court, Andre Drummond of the Detroit Pistons is one of the NBA’s best young players.
Off the court, Drummond has made headlines for a strange relationship with actress Jennette McCurdy and also apparently loves to drive fast while taking photographs. The big man evidenced such today as he sent out a photo to fans on picture sharing service ‘Snapchat’ which showed the Pistons big man presumably on his way to The Palace of Auburn Hills.
There’s nothing wrong with that of course, outside of the fact that one is not allowed to text/take pictures while driving (Michigan law oddly allows for phone conversations however). That might not be the biggest offense though as Drummond’s speedometer showed the Detroit Pistons center nearly driving 100 mph.
Whoops.
I didn’t stay at a fancy hotel last night but I’m going to venture that driving one-handed, looking at your phone screen, while driving 96 mph isn’t probably the safest thing to do, not only for Drummond but for fellow drivers on the road.
Andre Drummond isn’t the first athlete to enjoy driving his car fast as just a few years ago Tyreke Evans was pulled over driving 120 mph. In addition, we all know the sad story former NBA player Bobby Phills, who in 2000 died after allegedly racing his car against a teammate while going 75 mph.
