Fantasy Basketball: FanDuel Lineups For December 6th

There are only six NBA games tonight, but there are eight players that cost over $9,000 going tonight. There are plenty of places to blow your $60,000 cap. There is plenty of star power on display.

Here are my FanDuel lineups for December 6th:

Nov 8, 2014; Miami, FL, USA; Minnesota Timberwolves guard Zach LaVine (8) dribbles against Miami Heat guard Norris Cole (30) during the second half at American Airlines Arena. The Heat won 102-92. Mandatory Credit: Steve Mitchell-USA TODAY Sports

Point Guards:

Bargains:

Cory Joseph, Spurs ($4,100): Tony Parker will miss tonight’s game, which means that Joseph will get the start. He has gone over 25 fantasy points in each of the last two games that he has started for Parker. He also gets the added bonus of playing the beat up Timberwolves.

Zach LaVine, Timberwolves ($3,600): LaVine racked up 28 fantasy points last night starting for the injured Mo Williams. Williams didn’t even travel with the team to San Antonio, so you can bet that LaVine will get as many minutes as he can handle.

Worth The Cost:

Michael Carter-Williams, 76ers ($8,700): MCW is one of the hottest players going right now. He has a string of four straight games that he has 44 fantasy points or more. Can you afford not to play him right now?

Stephen Curry, Warriors ($10,200): After a pair of underwhelming games, Curry put up a stat line that is more close to normal for him on Thursday against the Pelicans. It was good for 47 fantasy points, which makes him worth the money.

Risky Play:

Goran Dragic, Suns ($7,300): Dragic is making the most of his extra minutes with Isaiah Thomas out. He is averaging 43 fantasy points a game over that span. As long as Thomas remains injured, Dragic is a must play in any format. The bad news? There is rumblings out of Phoenix that Thomas is going to try to play tonight. Stay tuned to that situation if you plan on going with Dragic or Eric Bledsoe. The return of Thomas would hamper both of their values.

My Lineups:

A: Carter-Williams and Darren Collison ($16,100): I couldn’t find an acceptable way to afford Curry, so I am going with Collison, who looked good last night against the Pacers.

B: LaVine and Joseph ($7,700)

Shooting Guards:

Bargains:

Jason Terry, Rockets ($4,100): Terry has posted between 32 and 35 fantasy points in every game with Patrick Beverly and Isaiah Canaan out. So far, it looks like both of them are out again tonight, which makes Terry a must-play. Be sure to monitor the situation before tipoff just to make sure. Honestly, the Rockets have no reason to rush either of them back since Terry has been just as efficient, if not more, than both of them anyway.

Ben McLemore, Kings ($4,500): He does not put up flashy fantasy numbers, but he provides a consistent 20 fantasy points with the occasional 30+ game in there.

Worth The Cost:

James Harden, Rockets ($10,400): Harden has been over 45 fantasy points in five of his last seven games. Three of those were in the mid-50’s, so he is providing big-time production to go with his big-time price tag.

Klay Thompson, Warriors ($7,700): Thompson has been on a roll in over the last two games. He has also been in the 30’s in seven of his last ten games. The bad part is that he has not cracked 40 yet. At least you are getting consistent production for the money.

Risky Play:

Jamal Crawford, Clippers ($5,600): Crawford had a nice string of games over the last two weeks of November, but he has quieted down in December. He has just 20.5 points combined in his last two games. That makes him a pretty big risk right now.

My Lineups:

A: Thompson and Terry ($11,800)

B: Terry and Harden ($14,500)

Nov 17, 2014; San Antonio, TX, USA; Philadelphia 76ers forward Robert Covington (33) drives to the basket while guarded by San Antonio Spurs shooting guard Kyle Anderson (behind) during the second half at AT&T Center. The Spurs won 100-75. Mandatory Credit: Soobum Im-USA TODAY Sports

Small Forwards:

Bargains:

Shabazz Muhammad, Timberwolves ($4,800): Muhammad has been seeing increased minutes over the last week. He has tallied over 25 fantasy points in three out of his last four games. In the one that he didn’t reach that plateau, he left with a sore ankle. His ankle seemed fine last night.

Robert Covington ($3,700): There are a lot of options in Philadelphia’s frontcourt, but both Covington and K.J. McDaniels have logged over 30 minutes over the last two games. Luc Richard Mbah A Moute is still playing quite a bit, but Covington has posted the better lines over the last couple of games.

Worth The Cost:

Rudy Gay, Kings ($8,100): Since missing two games with a sore Achilles, Gay has scored over 40 fantasy points in three of those four games. He is one of the most reliable options right now.

Josh Smith, Pistons ($7,700): Smith has seven consecutive games of over 30 fantasy points. He has also posted a 40 and 50 point game in that span. He is a consistent option, and has been able to provide an unexpected boost even in a couple of instances.

Risky Play:

Kawhi Leonard, Spurs ($7.300): Leonard’s numbers have fluctuated with Manu Ginobili pulling out of his slump and Danny Green putting up bigger and bigger numbers. You can count on him for 20-25 points, and will sometimes get more, but you can probably find a better use for your money.

My Lineups:

A: Smith and Covington ($11,400)

B: Gay and Tobias Harris ($15,300): Harris is quietly still putting up 30 fantasy points a night.

Nov 15, 2014; Sacramento, CA, USA; Sacramento Kings forward Jason Thompson (34) dunks the ball against the San Antonio Spurs during the second quarter at Sleep Train Arena. Mandatory Credit: Kelley L Cox-USA TODAY Sports

Power Forwards:

Bargains:

Jason Thompson, Kings ($3,700): He is cheap, and he starts. And with DeMarcus Cousins still out, Thompson has chipped in rather well.

Marreese Speights, Warriors ($5,200): Speights is one of the better bench plays in FanDuel. He is the first off of the Warriors bench, and he consistently gets 25 minutes. He usually does good things with those minutes, but there is always a certain amount of risk playing someone that doesn’t start.

Worth The Cost:

Anthony Davis, Pelicans ($11,800): Davis has back-to-back 60 fantasy point games. Enough said.

Pau Gasol, Bulls ($9,100): Gasol has averaged 42.5 fantasy points per game since his return to the lineup six games ago. With the news that Joakim Noah may be out tonight, Gasol might take on an even bigger role with the team, if that’s possible.

Risky Play:

Taj Gibson, Bulls ($5,900): The Bulls have hinted all day that Gibson will play tonight, but he is still listed as a game time decision. If he does play, he could be a solid option. I’m just not going to take the chance unless I am absolutely sure what his role is.

My Lineups:

A: Gasol and Thompson ($12,800)

B: Davis and Thompson ($15,500)

November 16, 2014; Los Angeles, CA, USA; Golden State Warriors center Andrew Bogut (12) controls the ball against the Los Angeles Lakers during the first half at Staples Center. Mandatory Credit: Gary A. Vasquez-USA TODAY Sports

Center:

Bargain:

Omer Asik, Pelicans ($5,400): Asik won’t do much offensively, but he is a rebounding machine. He has 56 rebounds in his last five games. He doesn’t score much, but he will net you 20 fantasy points on rebounding alone most nights.

Worth The Cost:

Andrew Bogut, Warriors ($7,000):Bogut is averaging 31.5 fantasy points over his last six games. That makes him the most consistent producer at center tonight, though he is not the most flashy. He is a solid producer.

Risky Play:

Andre Drummond, Pistons ($7,700): Drummond has two 50+ fantasy points efforts in his last four games. The bad news? In those other two games, he didn’t hit 50 points combined. That said, all of the higher priced options ahead of him (Dwight Howard, DeMarcus Cousins, Joakim Noah, and Nikola Vucevic) are all either out or game time decisions.

My Lineups:

A: Drummond ($7,700)

B: Bogut ($7,000)
