Rajon Rondo of the Boston Celtics says he and Kobe Bryant of the Los Angeles Lakers sharing a meal was nothing more than “two assholes eating breakfast”.

Earlier this week, before the Boston Celtics hosted the Los Angeles Lakers, Rajon Rondo and Kobe Bryant were spotted eating breakfast together.
That isn’t exactly odd, but the fact both were enjoying their time together had some whispering of a potential trade. Rondo was quick to shoot down such talk though as the All-Star point guard stated what he thought was the obvious, just two assholes having breakfast together.

Now, Kobe Bryant and Rajon Rondo aren’t exactly best friends as the two don’t have much history together outside of a basketball court, though the two have previously traded off friendly banter and suggested each player was an “asshole” in the past. That’s the basis of Rondo’s rather humorous comment and why he even referred to Kobe Bryant in such a way.
The bigger question is, was it simply two a-holes having breakfast as Rajon Rondo alludes to or was it something more? Kobe Bryant has previously stated he’d love to play alongside Rajon Rondo and the Los Angeles Lakers are in desperate need of a point guard while the Boston Celtics may have intentions to trade Rondo who’s in the last year of his deal.
With a little give-and-take you’d believe both teams would be able to find the necessary pieces to craft a workable deal, though at this time it’s nothing more than speculation and rumor.
Maybe next time Kobe and Rajon should simply enjoy breakfast at a more secluded restaurant if they don’t want to deal with the rumor filled aftermath.
