Fantasy Basketball: FanDuel Lineups For December 7th

I have had a nice little streak of finishing in the money lately. With five NBA games tonight, there are plenty of stars on display. The two afternoon games are not included in most of the FanDuel games, so these are for the evening games only.

More from FanDuel

Here are my FanDuel lineups for December 7th:

Oct 29, 2014; Phoenix, AZ, USA; Los Angeles Lakers guard Ronnie Price (9) against the Phoenix Suns during the home opener at US Airways Center. The Suns defeated the Lakers 119-99. Mandatory Credit: Mark J. Rebilas-USA TODAY Sports

Point Guards:

Bargain:

Ronnie Price, Lakers ($3,600): Price had played more minutes than Jeremy Lin over the last couple of games, and honestly, has outplayed Lin anyway. Price won’t wow you with his fantasy numbers. In fact, Lin puts up far better numbers from a fantasy perspective. The Lakers must like the way that Price runs the team. Either than or Lin slept with a coaches wife. He did something to earn the ire of the staff, since Price is seeing the majority of the minutes.

Worth The Cost:

Mike Conley, Grizzlies ($6,900): Conley is the most consistent option available tonight without breaking the bank for Russell Westbrook. Damian Lillard is dealing with a finger sprain. Reggie Jackson can’t be counted on with Westbrook back. Brandon Knight and Jrue Holiday have been prone to off games at least once a week. That leaves the solid but unspectacular Conley. He has average 33 fantasy points over his last five games, and has only had one game under 20. On a light night, he is the option with the least amount of risk involved.

Risky Plays:

Damian Lillard, Trailblazers ($8,600): The finger sprain makes me nervous for someone who handles the ball and shoots the way that Lillard does. He may be fine, but I want a more sure thing if I am going to spend that kind of money.

Mario Chalmers, Heat ($6,100): When are the Heat going to wake up? Chalmers produces whenever he is in the lineup. You can’t say that for Norris Cole. Cole is still the starter, and is expected to play tonight. That makes Chalmers a risk because if he doesn’t start, his value isn’t as great as it would be. There is a chance that he produces worthy numbers off the bench, but it is not as sure of a thing as it is when he starts.

My Lineups:

A: Price and Conley ($10,500):

B:Ā Jrue HolidayĀ and Jameer Nelson ($11,900): Nelson is a starter for under $5k. There are worse options than him, though if Raymond Felton ends up playing, Nelson’s value could go down. As for Holiday, he is playing the Lakers. Enough said.

Nov 24, 2014; Dallas, TX, USA; Dallas Mavericks guard Monta Ellis (11) sits on the bench during the game against the Indiana Pacers at the American Airlines Center. The Pacers defeated the Mavericks 111-100. Mandatory Credit: Jerome Miron-USA TODAY Sports

Shooting Guards:

Bargains:

Nick Young, Lakers ($5,200): Young has four consecutive games of over 20 fantasy points. While he hasn’t gone above 30, he is providing solid production for his cost.

Wesley Matthews, Trailblazers ($6,000): Matthews may see an increased role in the Blazer’s offense if Lillard is hampered by his finger strain. Even if Lillard is fine, the sharpshooting Matthews is still a good option. He had a rough night against the Pacers on Thursday, but prior to that, had not been below 20 fantasy points since the first week of the season.

Worth The Cost:

Monta Ellis, Mavericks ($7,800): Ellis has been on a tear lately. He has averaged 40.4 fantasy points over his last five games. He is producing numbers that usually cost about $1,500 above his price.

Dwyane Wade, Heat ($8,100): Wade seems to have gotten back on track since his return form a hamstring injury. He has scored 83.7 fantasy points over the last two games. He seems to be safe to use again.

Risky Play:

Kobe Bryant, Lakers ($9,000): Every time I put Kobe in this section, he goes off. He is here because since his monster game against the Raptors on November 30th, he has only averaged 32 fantasy points per game. That is not worth the $9,000 that you have to pay for him.

My Lineups:

A:Ā Wade and Kentavious Caldwell-Pope ($12,700): KCP has played more than 30 minutes in each of his last six games, and is averaging 23 fantasy points per game over that stretch.

B: Ellis and Young ($13,000)

Mar 7, 2014; New Orleans, LA, USA; Milwaukee Bucks power forward Khris Middleton (22) reacts following a loss to the New Orleans Pelicans in a game at the Smoothie King Center. The Pelicans defeated the Bucks 112-104. Mandatory Credit: Derick E. Hingle-USA TODAY Sports

Small Forwards:

Bargain:

Khris Middleton, Bucks ($4,400): Middleton has gotten a nice run with Ersan Ilyasova sidelined. With Ilyasova out at least the next two games, Middleton will still get plenty of looks. Theoretically, at least. You never know with the Bucks.

Worth The Cost:

Josh Smith, Pistons ($7,700): Smith has gone over 40 fantasy points in four of his last seven games, and has not been under 30 during that stretch. Smith is on some kind of run right now. I’m going to ride it while it lasts.

Nicolas Batum, Trailblazers ($6,700): Batum has gone over 30 fantasy points in each of his last three games. He is rounding back in to form, and is a solid option on a light night like tonight.

Risky Play:

Kevin Durant, Thunder ($10,000): The league MVP is still on a minutes limit. As long as he is, he can’t be relied upon in daily games. Not for that price.

My Lineups:

A: Middleton and Carmelo Anthony ($13,700): ā€˜Melo has been over 40 fantasy points in three ofĀ  four games since his return from back spasms.

B: Smith and Middleton ($12,100)

Dec 2, 2014; Denver, CO, USA; Denver Nuggets center J.J. Hickson (7) falls to the ground defending against Portland Trail Blazers forward LaMarcus Aldridge (12) in the fourth quarter at Pepsi Center. Power Forwards:

Bargain:

Amare Stoudemire, Knicks ($5,900): Stoudemire’s value has been consistent even though coach Derek Fisher’s lineups have not been. His average of 24.2 fantasy points on the season is right in line with his 25 over the last five games. Being consistent with an inconsistent role in the lineup is difficult, but Stoudemire has pulled it off.

Worth The Cost:

LaMarcus Aldridge, Trailblazers ($9,800): Aldridge remains possibly the most consistently reliable player in the FanDuel universe. He hit his average almost right on the nose against the Pacers on Thursday, almost just to prove this point.

Risky Play:

Anthony Davis, Pelicans ($11,800): Davis is perhaps the only option that can score 60 fantasy points nearly at will. That said, for every 60 point game, he has another in the 30’s. To me, that is a huge risk to take at that price. Others will disagree, and I respect that. Everyone wants to chase greatness, and Davis is one of the few people that provides it somewhat often.

My Lineups:

A and B: Stoudemire and Aldridge ($15,700)

Dec 4, 2014; Oakland, CA, USA; Golden State Warriors guard Stephen Curry (30) shoots the ball against New Orleans Pelicans center Omer Asik (3) during the first quarter at Oracle Arena. Mandatory Credit: Kelley L Cox-USA TODAY Sports

Center:

Bargain:

Omer Asik, Pelicans ($5,400): Asik has three straight games of over 25 points. While those aren’t great numbers, they are solid for that price. If you need to go cheap, Asik is one of the more reliable options.

Worth The Cost:

Marc Gasol, Grizziles ($8,400): Gasol showed no ill effects of knee pain against the Spurs on Friday. He is safe to roll back out there.

Tyson Chandler, Mavericks ($7,200): Chandler continues to produce at near elite levels. He has averaged 40 fantasy points per game over his last six games. He has the potential to dominate the Bucks tonight.

Risky Play:

Jordan Hill, Lakers ($6,600): Hill had back-to-back games over 35 fantasy points. He has followed those up with 33 points combined over his last two games. It’s all or nothing with Hill, making him a huge risk.

My Lineups:

A and B: Chandler ($7,200)
