Steve Smith is 35 years old and in his 14th season, ancient by the standards for an NFL wide receiver. But as he keeps showing, he’s still got some game.
Steve Smith matched a season-high Sunday with seven receptions and the Baltimore Ravens improved to 8-5 with a 28-13 win over the Miami Dolphins at Sun Life Stadium in Miami.
Smith accounted for 70 yards and scored a touchdown.
And one of those catches shows that the 35-year-old Smith, released by the Carolina Panthers last spring, still knows how to tap those toes.
Smith now has 61 receptions for 889 yards and six touchdowns for the Ravens. Carolina let him go because he was washed up, as evidenced by his 64 catches for 745 yards and four scores a season ago.

Smith came out of the gate like gangbusters this season, with 25 receptions for 429 yards and three touchdowns in Baltimore’s first four games—including a seven-reception, 139-yard, two-touchdown performance in a 38-10 win over the Panthers.
But his production has slowed of late, with 13 receptions for 144 yards and one score in his last four games heading into today, including just one reception for two yards in last week’s loss to the San Diego Chargers.
