When Kevin Durant heard that a 13-year-old near Detroit got mugged for his KD 7 shoes, the Oklahoma City Thunder star delivered a new pair to him on Sunday.

Talk about special delivery.

Oklahoma City Thunder star Kevin Durant delivered a new pair of his signature KD 7 shoes to a 13-year-old Detroit-area boy who had his stolen from him during a mugging the week before Thanksgiving.

The Detroit Pistons heard about the story of Anthony Cupp, who was mugged while walking home in a rough neighborhood in the Detroit suburb of Warren. An older child jumped him and stole his shoes.

His mother, Janiesa Cupp, is undergoing treatment after surgery to remove a tumor, so money is tight in the house.

"“We live in a rough neighborhood,” Janiesa Cupp told The Oklahoman. “And my car broke down. It was the first time he’s ever walked.”"

When the Thunder visited the Pistons on Sunday, a meeting was arranged. Anthony was invited to The Palace of Auburn Hills to be an honorary ball boy and before the game, Cupp and Durant met.

Durant gave the boy two pairs of his signature kicks—one in Cupp’s size and the other in Durant’s, signed by the 2013-14 NBA Most Valuable Player.

Anthony also got a KD branded jacket and backpack.

"“He was real nervous,” Durant said. “Same thing I would have been if I met my favorite NBA player back then. I was just trying to make him feel as comfortable as possible.”"

A big thumbs-up to KD for making a family’s holiday season memorable for all the right reasons, instead of the wrong ones.
