Might Phil Jackson be wishing he had stayed retired on his Montana ranch?
Perhaps as the New York Knicks’ president of basketball operations appears frustrated with some of the players on the roster, recently suggesting some of them won’t listen and aren’t receptive to the changes being made within the organization.

A master motivator who has no problem calling out specific players, Phil Jackson seems to be leaving a question mark in regards to who he specifically is speaking about. That’s likely in effort to have players on the roster wonder if the comment was directed at them as opposed to naming a single player or two whom Jackson is frustrated with. In addition to calling out some players, Phil Jackson also reportedly spoke with J.R. Smith and suggested he wants to see him lead the second unit better.

Perhaps part of the overall problem is the fact that Phil Jackson believes J.R. Smith can lead?
In all seriousness, while it’s like Jackson expected speed bumps during the season it’s doubtful he nor anybody else in the organization expected such a difficult start to the season.
Thankfully with a significant amount of cap space upcoming, the New York Knicks can make a quick turnaround and return to being one of the better teams in the NBA’s Eastern Conference. The rest of this current campaign though looks pretty bleak.
