Man, if a professional athlete wanted to do something really crazy or say something really controversial or terrible, this would be the week to do it. It would take LeBron James and Tim Tebow going on a really racist rant, together, while arguing with Brett Favre to even crack the first 30 minutes of any episode of Sportscenter the next two weeks.
This is the moment we have been waiting for all season. No longer will the Browns toil away with the predictable mediocrity of Brian Hoyer at the quarterback position. Now they will turn to the unpredictable, high-variance mediocrity of Johnny Football.
Chris Mortensen reports that the Browns are expected to announce Johnny Manziel as their starting quarterback for week 15 against the Bengals.
Hype and nonsense aside, this makes sense for the Browns for multiple reasons. For their razor thin hopes of reaching the playoffs, they might as well take a shot with the higher ceiling that Manziel brings with his ability to be more dynamic than Hoyer.
From there, given the fact that their season is probably done after losing to the Indianapolis Colts in week 14, they might as well start the well-publicized process of assessing what they have in Manziel as their quarterback of the future.
Ready or not, here come a whole bunch of hot takes about JOHNNY MANZIEL and what it takes to play quarterback in the NATIONAL FOOTBALL LEAGUE.
