After Wednesday night, few will ever accuse Cory Jefferson of the Brooklyn Nets for being one of the smarter players in the NBA, though the forward has shown some promise in recent weeks.
Despite that, his shot from last night may have set his star back a few decades considering it might possibly is the most embarrassing of the season.
With Brooklyn down by nine-points in the fourth quarter against the Chicago Bulls, Jefferson received the ball while standing behind the three-point line. Why he was even in that area is unknown considering his range from that area of the floor is all but null.
Regardless, that’s where he was and that’s where the pass greeted him. He could have decided to pass it off to a teammate or perhaps attempt to drive it into the teeth of the defense in hopes of finding an open player. He decided to shoot the ball instead and the end result was nothing short of humiliating.
This makes an air ball look as beautiful as Reggie Miller going through an epic hot streak. What the hell was that?!? It’s like Cory Jefferson’s brain told him it was a great idea to shoot the shot but his body refused to go through with the process and attempted to stop him before embarrassing himself.
On the plus side,, Cory Jefferson will now be forever immortalized on any NBA blooper productions for the rest of time.
