The NFL won the appeal hearing brought about by Adrian Peterson over his year-long suspension, but the NFLPA isn’t happy about it and aren’t done fighting.
Adrian Peterson has not played football since Week 1 of the 2014 season and will not play again until at least April 2015. That’s the reality after Peterson lost his appeal against the NFL in the case of his year-long suspension and will now be out until the first three weeks of the NFL season next year.

There’s still a chance that doesn’t happen though, as Peterson’s 2014 season may be over but the NFLPA is just beginning their fight to lower his ban in 2015. The NFLPA released a statement immediately following the Adrian Peterson verdict and are threatening legal action in wake of the running back losing his appeal.
"“The NFLPA expected this outcome, given the hearing officer’s relationship and financial ties to the NFL. The decision itself ignores the facts, the evidence and the collective bargaining agreement. This decision also represents the NFL’s repeated failure to adhere to due process and confirms its inconsistent treatment of players. Our union is considering immediate legal remedies.”"
As it stands now, Peterson would have to sit the final three games of this current season without pay and then the first three weeks of the 2015 season without pay as well. In total, his suspension from the NFL could end up being 18-games and that’s something the NFLPA is not about to let happen.
