The NFL and Adrian Peterson have been battling in court to determine the proper punishment for the Minnesota Vikings running back and that verdict has finally come today.Â
Adrian Peterson is the best running back in football but he’s played just one game in the 2014 season due to his off-field problems with the legal system. Peterson was accused of child abuse back in September after photos of his bruised son surfaced thanks to a doctor’s checkup and it’s been all downhill from there for Peterson.

After sitting out the whole season, Peterson settled his legal issues and expected to be reinstated by the NFL but that did not happen. Instead, Peterson was told he’d be suspended for the remainder of the season and wouldn’t be eligible to return to the league in any capacity until April 2015.
Needless to say, Peterson appealed that suspension and the ruling of that appeal was handed down this afternoon in New York.

What this means is that Peterson will have to sit out the remainder of the 2014 season and will have to lobby for reinstatement in April of next year. It’s now up to the Vikings to decide what they want to do with Peterson as his contract is costing them a lot of money and he has been confirmed to be out until the spring of next year.
