The man we so often refer to as ‘Swaggy P’ is no longer. Okay, maybe ‘Swaggy P’ hasn’t gone anywhere but Nick Young of the Los Angeles Lakers has given himself a new nickname.
Just minutes after unleashing a rather lucky shot to defeat the San Antonio Spurs, Young decided to inform local media of his new nickname: ‘IDM’.
What the hell does that mean, you ask? Well according to Nick Young, ‘IDM’ stands for ‘I don’t miss’:
That might be the most hilarious nickname ever considering not only did Swaggy P bestow the moniker upon himself, but even more amusing given his volume shooting reputation. Of course, you have to assume that Nick Young was simply having some fun and almost trolling himself as he so often does because there’s no way he’s that delusional.
Just a few days ago Young suggested that nobody on Earth could guard him, sparking teammate Kobe Bryant to suggest that it was a good thing the Black Mamba wasn’t from this planet.
In the end it seems as if Nick Young is simply just doing what he can to build his own brand and to become a star on the Los Angeles Lakers. His play will take him further than his mouth, of course, but so far both have been doing pretty well this season.
‘IDM’ and the Lakers will take on the Minnesota Timberwolves next in hopes for their third straight victory.
