As a professional athlete, you spend a great deal of your time handing out autographs. Some players do it more than others, like Stephen Curry of the Golden State Warriors who routinely spends time before and after making sure he can give out as many signatures as possible.
Of course, it’s not always possible to give every fan an autograph so there are the occasional instances when a fan will be turned away.
That apparently happened recently and a fan, unhappy he wasn’t able to get Stephen Curry’s autograph, blasted the All-Star on Twitter. That’s when Golden State Warriors teammate Andrew Bogut came to Steph Curry’s defense and unloaded on the fan.
We’ve seen players who’ve been eating drop what they’re doing and sign an autograph for a fan on more than one occasion, only to be bombarded by fellow signature seekers so it’s completely understandable as to why Stephen Curry didn’t want to sign.
More often than not players will tell fans they’ll autograph whatever they want once they’re done eating or leaving a venue with their family, but as a fan you have to known when it’s a good time and when it’s a bad time to seek out an autograph.
Stephen Curry is just a normal guy who is amazing at basketball. You certainly wouldn’t appreciate tons of people continually hounding you during every meal and it’s easy to see why athletes like Curry can get frustrated with such.
Nice backup by Andrew Bogut, too.
